Which carpet underlay is best?
We sell more of Plushwalk 12mm which is currently the best on the market.
What makes this underlay the best?
Memory foam makes the best performance in a carpet underlay which give it great feeling, heat and sound insulating properties.
Which carpet underlay is best to walk on?
Memory foam is great on a bed, and the exact same can be said for a carpet underlay product made from memory foam.
The memory foam creates a unique bounce back effect when paired with carpet, and when installed with a thick and high-quality carpet, it will massively improve underfoot comfort!
Underlays such as Wilsons Plushwalk in 10mm or 12m thickness incorporate memory foam and are the best in the marketplace today, as soon as you walk upon it feels fantastic to walk on and they are testing to the BS5808 (British Standards) to prove its a quality product that will perform well. This means its been tested and the figures indicate performance you should expect, if your supplier can’t produce these then it may be wise to look at something else.
Good Afternoon,
This is something that I would not advise. It is difficult to lay tack strips on top of existing carpet, can oftentimes be a poor underlayment option, and can be a setup that is a breeding ground for mould, leading to the ruin of new carpet. You should invest in new carpet underlay almost every time you lay a new carpet.
Thank you
Jemma
