Carpets | Berber Loop, Twist, Saxony
Our range of Carpets here at Tradepriced feature a variation of pile types such as Berber Loop, Twist and Saxony. We have various thicknesses available ranging from 4mm to 8mm thick and a range of modern colours to suit all home decors.
The majority of our carpets come in both 4m & 5m Widths and 2m-12m Lengths. We also have different backing types available, such as action backing and felt backing.
All the carpets we stock are also very hardwearing and will last you a long time if looked after properly. We recommend using underlay with all our carpets as this will offer extra protection and added comfort underfoot. Our top recommendation for carpet underlay is the Wilsons Plushwalk Range which you can also purchase on our site. We would especially recommend the Plushwalk 12mm in particular, offering exceptional levels of underfoot comfort along with fantastic sound proofing properties and thermal insulation.
Please Note: We can’t offer Next Day Delivery on our carpets at the moment. If you would like to discuss delivery times, please give us a call on 020 8037 6557

Very much so – Berber loop carpets are renowned for being incredibly hardwearing, durable, and having a long-life span. But what makes them so long-lasting?
Firstly, Berber loop carpets consist of short loop piles – the fibres that make up the carpet are looped and short in length. Short loop piles are less susceptible to snagging and matting than longer loops and are much stronger than sheared piles – this helps to make Berber carpets highly durable, even in high-traffic areas.
Additionally, all our Berber loop carpets are made from 100% polypropylene, an incredibly robust material that resists stains well. So, even if spills and accidents occur on your Berber carpet, there’s no need to replace it.

At Tradepriced, we highly recommend installing new underlay when purchasing a new carpet, regardless of whether it’s a Berber, twist or Saxony type.
Although your current underlay may seem in good condition, it will likely cause your carpet pile to flatten quickly and not cushion you sufficiently underfoot – whereas a fresh underlay will extend the life of your carpet by absorbing shock and enabling your carpet to keep its spring.
A brand-new underlay can extend the lifespan of your carpet by up to 50% by preventing general wear and tear that a worn underlay can’t.
As well as our collection of bespoke carpets, we also offer a range of underlays perfect for all applications – for more information, contact our expert team via our online contact form
Although both have a sheared pile finish and offer a long lifespan, twist and Saxony carpets differ in carpet fibre density and their finishes.
Twist carpets have an incredibly short and dense carpet pile compared to Saxony types, which gives them a coarse and textured finish. Due to the shortness of the fibres, twist carpets are hard and won’t show vacuum lines or footprints. This type of carpet is perfect for high-traffic areas such as stairs as it’s incredibly hardwearing and durable.
On the other hand, Saxony carpets will show that ‘recently vacuumed look’ due to their deep pile and soft finish. Saxony types exude luxury and are ideal for bedrooms that don’t receive as much traffic as they show up footprints, which you may not want.
